The Gulf Health Council praised the efforts of the Qatar Ministry of Public Health to deal with the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
The council stressed on its official accounts on social networks, that the Qatari ministry ranked 15th in the world among the best ministries of health to deal with the pandemic, according to the ranking of the German magazine Der Spiegel.
In addition, the Central Food Laboratory in Qatar has obtained US national accreditation for US standards. The council noted that the health sector in Qatar implemented the largest vaccination campaign in the country’s history, with the vaccination rate in the country reaching over 86% of the total population. Subsequently, Qatar was ranked among the top 10 countries in the world in terms of vaccination rates.
Further, the council said Qatar’s health ministry is continuing its other achievements in parallel with the fight against the pandemic. The ministry has established 14 hospitals affiliated with Hamad Medical Corp, 28 health centers affiliated with Primary Health Care Corp and four health centers managed by the Qatar Red Crescent.
The healthcare system also includes some of the most advanced medical technologies in the world.
