Former Cerner chairman to lead apree health in his mmission to build an integrated digital navigation and advanced leader in the primary care category

SEATTLE and SAN FRANCISCO, September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Vera Whole Health, Inc. and Castlight Health, Inc. today announced the appointment of Donald Trigg as Managing Director and unveiled a new corporate brand: apree health. Effective this week, Trigg serves as chief executive and joins the company’s board of directors.

Trigg most recently served as President of Cerner Corporation. During his tenure, the company grew from more than $800 million after $6 billion In income. As President, Trigg had full responsibility for P&Ls across all of Cerner’s business groups, ranging from clinical EMR and revenue cycle to a set of strategic growth activities beyond EMR, including provider health network around value-based care.

Donald Trigg most recently, he served as President of Cerner Corporation. As President of Cerner, Don held general management, P&L and operational responsibilities for all of Cerner’s business groups. These groups were comprised of Cerner’s foundational electronic medical record (EMR) and revenue cycle. They also included nearly $1 billion revenue from strategic growth businesses ranging from real-time health systems (RTHS) within the four walls of the hospital to health network, behavioral health, LTPAC and workforce health businesses working beyond the four walls of the hospital to real-world data and clinical trial activities.

For more than a decade at Cerner, Trigg held various leadership positions across the company. His responsibilities ranged from executive vice president of strategic growth activities at Cerner to managing director of UK and Ireland operations in London, England to the managing director of the Midwest region in the US market to the very senior vice president of government practice at Cerner.

Outside of Cerner, Trigg has extensive experience scaling early-stage growth companies. From 2010 to 2012, he led the execution of natural language processing provider CodeRyte’s rapid growth plan, culminating in its strategic acquisition by 3M in 2012. He served on the board of referral management leader, Boston– based in Kyruus, as well as on the board of directors of Medicare Advantage solutions provider for healthcare systems, Saint Louisbased on Lumeris.

Trigg has also spent over a decade in washington d.c. He worked four years for George W. Bush on his 2000 presidential campaign in Austin, TXand his first presidential term in washington d.c. He has also held various leadership positions in the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives.

Trigg earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University in Guangzhou, New York. He is the co-author of The New Health Economics: Ground Rules for Leaders (Georgetown University Hurry).
